Did you see my last blog post about how to structure your wedding day timeline? If you’re a bit of a traditionalist at heart, that post is for you! But if you’re looking to shake things up a little, keep reading my friend…

There are so many ways to structure your wedding day. Gone are the “bad luck” days of staying apart on your wedding-eve, of not seeing each other before your ceremony and of the weird garter toss tradition that involves an awkward amount of teeth and raunchiness in front of your great aunt… And thank goodness! Your wedding day can be anything that feels right to you.

One of my favourite wedding trends to emerge over the last few years is the first look. It can be so lovely to share a special moment with just the two of you before you exchange your vows. (With me there to capture it, of course!)

Another benefit of the first look is that it gives us a chance to capture some portraits before your ceremony, meaning you can maximise the time spent with your guests in the evening, rather than disappearing for photos after the ceremony. (But I’ll always want to sneak you away at sunset for a few sneaky golden hour portraits!)

Of course, if you like surprises (and there aren’t many surprises in life as great as seeing your love at the other end of the aisle in front of all your family & friends), then waiting until the ceremony to see each other is equally as special.

However you decide to structure your wedding day, I’ll be there every step of the way to guide you through it. Consider me your wedding day Girl Scout guide.

Jess xx
